Eco Flexibles has been named as a finalist for the prestigious London Packaging Week Innovation Awards 2024.
The company’s collaboration with Whitworths on their ‘Be a Nutrition Magician’ brand relaunch has been recognised in the Sustainability Impact category, highlighting the project’s significant contribution to environmentally focused flexible packaging solutions.
The project showcased Eco Flexibles’ expertise in flexible packaging design and digital inkjet production, creating a visually arresting and recyclable packaging range for Whitworths’ healthy snack products.
Utilising the first Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 water-based inkjet press installed outside Japan, Eco Flexibles delivered high-performance print with rapid turnaround times, demonstrating the potential of cutting-edge technology in sustainable packaging.
Standout achievements include superior colour consistency, vibrant designs using water-based inks and precision rendering of both bold graphics and delicate details. The collaboration demonstrates how recyclable flexible packaging excellence can be achieved without compromising visual appeal or performance, setting a new standard in the industry.
Simon Buswell, Director at Eco Flexibles, commented: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for this award. Our work with Whitworths exemplifies our mission to empower brands with visually striking and recyclable flexible packaging solutions. Ultimately, we want to speed up the rate of change by making sustainability-centric packaging more accessible and fundamentally better. This recognition validates our approach.
“Our commitment to investing in the latest technology is driven by our dedication to industry-wide sustainability. It’s a core belief at Eco Flexibles that with the right expertise and tools, brands never have to choose between sustainability and quality. They can – and should – have both. This project with Whitworths proves that sustainable packaging can be both high-performance and visually stunning.”
The innovative approach taken by Eco Flexibles in this project aligns perfectly with the growing demand for recyclable flexible packaging solutions that don’t compromise on quality or visual appeal. The winners will be announced at the London Packaging Week Innovation Awards ceremony on September 12, 2024.
