Eco Flexibles-2

Eco Flexibles’ collaboration with Whitworths continues to impress with Digital Printer Award shortlisting

Eco Flexibles’ commitment to excellence has once again been recognised by the packaging industry after the flexible packaging specialist was nominated for a Digital Printer Award.

The company was nominated in the Digitally Printed Labels and Packaging category for its collaboration with snack brand Whitworths on a vibrant range of pouches for its ‘Mission Nutrition’ range of fruit and nuts. The eye-catching pink packs were made using a recyclable monopolymer pouch that was printed on the first Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 water-based inkjet press installed outside Japan. This delivered high-performance print with rapid turnaround times, demonstrating the potential of cutting-edge technology in sustainable packaging.

Simon Buswell, Director at Eco Flexibles, was delighted at making the shortlist, saying: “Recyclable packaging is the future, and we are proud to be playing our part in shaping that future with innovations like this. Our collaboration with Whitworths shows how with the right partner in place, recyclable flexible packaging excellence can be achieved without compromising on visual appeal or functionality.”

The range of recyclable pouches was produced in support of Whitworths’ ‘Be a Nutrition Magician’ campaign, which aims to promote better nutrition among consumers. Its nomination continues a remarkable run of awards nominations, as it also made the shortlist at the London Packaging Awards, Grocer New Product and Packaging Awards and Digital Labels and Packaging Awards.

“We remain committed to investing in the latest technology from around the world to ensure our customers have access to truly market-leading packaging innovations,” added Simon. “Brands should never have to choose between sustainability and quality. At Eco Flexibles, it’s a point of pride that we can deliver both.”

The winning pack will be announced at the Digital Printer Awards 2024 ceremony on 21 November.
